Feb. 21 – Two missions for 13 aerospace Piedmont firms will head to the UK and the US. The first – scheduled for February 24-26 – will be in the English Midlands, the most significant aerospace cluster in the UK. The second – scheduled for March 10-14 – will head to the Silicon Valley and Seattle. In the UK, the 13 Piedmont companies will meet with Moog, Rolls Royce and Gardner among other noble names. Two weeks later in San Francisco, the Italian companies will have another unique opportunity to interact with NASA for the first time. ” The British misson was made possible thanks to the collaboration between Torino Piemonte Aerospace and the Midlands Aerospace Alliance (MAA), which supports the British aerospace industry cluster,” said Alessandro Barberis, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Turin. “The MAA proved to be an excellent partner for the development of our activities in such a dynamic area in which Rolls -Royce operates; Rolls-Royce is the world’s second largest manufacturer of aircraft engines and its contribution to the cluster’s notoriety is large. In the Midlands, there are also companies providing aircraft manufacturers such as Airbus or Boeing, with electro-mechanical systems for controlling aircraft movements and with materials such as aluminum, titanium and alloys. The opportunities in the US are also truly unique this year, insofar as we are able to offer our companies, for the first time, a meeting with NASA.”
