Apr. 2 – Pellegrin has been to Cambodia, Kossovo, Sudan, Cuba, Haiti, Japan, Israel and Palestine. His photography has always reflected the deep meaning of his travels, of the people he was facing, of the country he was visiting. Paolo Pellegrin works for Magnum Photos and has won numerous international awards, including World Press Photo, Photographer of the Year and Robert Capa Gold Medal. One of his photo reports on the Occupied Territories, “Portraits from Gaza,” will be on display April 26-October 26 in Tromso, Norway, at the Perspektivet Museum. The Museum organized the exhibition in collaboration with the Oslo Italian Cultural Institute. Since 2000, Pellegrin has visited both sides of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but when he arrived in Gaza after Operation Cast Lead he found a profoundly damaged place, with many dead, wounded or displaced. And this is what his reportage documented.
