Erbil – Stefano Santoro, 27, is a young man from Potenza who is currently in Iraq working for the World Food Program (WFP), on behalf of the UN. After graduating in International and Diplomatic Sciences in Forlì and a series of internships in Brussels and Rome promoted by the European Union, he participated in a World Food Program mission in Mali. He was then sent to Iraq, in Erbil, where he is a program officer for the World Food Program. Santoro deals with planning food distribution, maintaining relationships with other UN Agencies, coordinating food assistance with NGOs, and negotiating with local authorities. (9Colonne)
