(26 January, 2016) London, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Basel and Stuttgart. And then Philadelphia, New York, Boston via Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver and Los Angeles. Eugene Marino visited all these places in his “Andarsene sognando,” a book on the history of Italy and of Italian emigration through song. Now the author, who is also the National Head of the Democratic Party section for Italians in the World, is preparing for a new adventure in Brazil. After the success with the public and critics in Italy and the Italian communities in Europe and North America, “Andarsene sognando” – in its first reprint and winner of two awards, the Filitalia International in the USA and the Caccuri Prize in Italy – has been translated in Portuguese and will be presented on January 28, with the title “Partir sonhando”. The book was translated by Antonella Fossati at the initiative of the Italian-Brazilian Senator Fausto Longo and with the indispensable support of Vivi Sa Paolo. The book is published by SESI-SP, the FIESP (Federation of Industries of the State of São Paul) publisher. Senator Longo wrote the preface to the Portuguese edition, and promoted the launch of the book in Brazil, where he will attend all presentation events with the author and the Democratic Party member Fabio Porta. The presentation team will visit four cities in seven days, starting with Sao Paulo on January 28, at the headquarters of FIESP, continuing on January 29 in Vitoria, in Espirito Santo, at the headquarters of Assembleia Legislativa. Then on January 31, the tour continues in Rio de Janeiro, at the Livraria Argumento, to come to an end in Brasilia on February 3, where “Partir sonhando” will be presented in the National Congress Hall of Honor. Other supporting team members include the vice president of the Italian Chamber of Deputies Marina Sereni and Gilberto Carvalho, a former minister and head of the Secretariat of President Lula. (Gil)
