(11 March 2016) The notes of the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples Quartet crossed the Mediterranean and enchanted the Lebanese public. In recent days, the Quartet performed at the St. Louis of the Capuchins Church in Beirut in an exclusive event promoted by the Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute of the Lebanese capital. The concert is the fruit of the collaborative effort between the Antonina University and the Italian Cultural Institute, and is part of the chamber music season organized by the university every year. The Italian Cultural Institute is a regular partner of the musical seasons of the University, frequently working with the Lebanese National Higher Conservatory of Music. The Quartet performed in the first of a series of events for the 2016 season, and upcoming concerts include on April 1, 2016 the Requiem by Donizetti (the Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra Easter concert), directed by Father Toufic Maatouk. It will be followed in June by the Opera- study “the marriage of Figaro”, by the Antonine University and the National Higher Conservatory of Music. The collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute will be later crowned by the Italian participation in the Beirut Chants Festival scheduled for December 2016.(Red)
