Barcelona. The World’s Fair in Milan in 2015 saw 150 countries exhibit, more than 21 million visitors arrive, and approximately 5,000 events take place. After a phenomenal success at that fair, the Italian food processing industry is now setting its sights on the next big thing in agribusiness: on 25-28 April, Barcelona will host the latest edition of Alimentaria, and this year, Italy’s products will especially be in the spotlight. This is thanks to the planned presence of 36 companies and consortia, which will be exhibiting across 400 square meters in the international pavilion. The Italian Area will truly act as a window on Italy’s excellence in gourmet food processing, and will include a rich variety of products such as fresh and dried pastas, vacuum-sealed foods, cheese and dairy products, preserves, baked goods, wines and spirits, coffee and confectionery. In particular, visitors will be able to get to know certain regional specialties, such as geographically protected toma piemontese and salame piacentino, balsamic vinegar from Modena, and mozzarella di bufala campana, amongst others.
