Rabat. “The Sistine Chapel. History of a Masterpiece” is the title of the conference led by Professor Sabrina Favaro on Wednesday, 4th of May (18:30) at and organised by the Italian Cultural Institute in Rabat. The conference is part of a series of lectures titled “Monuments of Italy”. Everybody knows Michelangelo’s masterpiece that is the Sistine Chapel that occupies many pages of art history books and also easily found on posters and postcards. However, few know how this masterpiece came to be. The conference will reach an understanding the artistic, philosophic and religious process of the undisputed genius of the Renaissance through close examination of some the famous sculptor-painter-poet’s works.
