Oct. 31 – The bond between Valle di Ledro, in Trentino, and the Czech Republic is part of the historical memory retold by 150 photographs of Ledro refugees in Bohemia during the First World War. “My Bohemia” is a photo-exhibition currently hosted in the Czech Republic and that will be inaugurated on November 7, at 6pm, in the exhibition hall of the Hradec Kralove municipal library (Queen’s Castle), one of the oldest and largest cities in Eastern Bohemia. The opening ceremony will be accompanied by the music of the quintet orchestra of the Prague Castle Guard. In addition to the photographs already displayed in previous exhibitions, including the one in Prague in 2012, there will be photographs dedicated to Marco in Vallagarina refugees. In spring 2013, the exhibition will be presented in Blansko, Moravia. “My Bohemia” presents the war from a different point of view: it recounts the daily life and struggles of refugees, their lives in the fields, the women, elderly and children; the people who had to leave their homes, ans those who welcomed them. The photographs and documents are from Val di Ledro and Bohemia. The initiative, which will be open to the public until November 28 in Hradec Kralove, is organized by the municipality of Ledro, the historic “Ludwig Riccabona” Committee, the Bohemian associations “Amici di Ledro ” and “Friends of Italy.” It has the patronage of the Autonomous Province of Trento, the presidency of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Czech Republic, East Bohemia, the Keller Family Foundation, the Italian Cultural Institute in Prague, as well as Hradec Kralove City Hall and the Governor of Pardubice the Region, who will participate in the inauguration.
