Bucharest. Astaldi announces that it has won a contract for the rehabilitation of the railway line Frontiera-Curtici-Simeria named Lot 3 in a grouping of companies in Romania. The contract is worth approximately €600 million, 49.5% of which is Astaldi. The contract provides for the rehabilitation of about 40 kilometres of railway line between Gurasada and Simeria, with the construction of 17 bridges, electrification, ERTMS signalling and telecommunication systems, the rebuilding of 8 railway stations, and some minor works. The works are estimated to last approximately three years. The contiguity of this new lot to the other two recently acquired with the same FCC partner, will allow significant operational synergies and economies of scale. The Client is CFR SA, the Romanian State Railway Company. The works are funded via the EU under the POIM programme for the modernisation of the Curtici-Brasov-Constanta IV railway corridor. Astaldi will group Spanish FCC companies (the leader, quoted at 49.5%) and CONVENSA (1%). The beginning of the works is expected after the signing of the contract, expected in June 2017. (9colonne)
